Thanks for your comment, Meg, and I agree: In America, the isolationism mindset is most often a synonym for ignorance. And that mindset extends to what happens within the US -- too many Americans are under the illusion that they won't be affected by the dismantling of their own democracy.
Sometimes I feel (perversely enough) that we have become so ignorant of the rights bestowed on us by our Constitution and federal government that we deserve to lose them. And lose them we will if the rule of law does not hold. Saddening and infuriating in equal measure.
